Fort Bend Republicans and Local Politics

My name is Lea C.S. Simmons and I have submitted my name for your consideration to be your next Texas State Representative for Texas House District 76. "As a Concerned Citizen of the United States and Native Texan, I am running to represent you. "
I personally have witnessed the redistricting map first-hand in Austin, Texas at the Texas State Capitol that has helped minorities like me, consider running for office. With your help, I would like to flip the new seat to Republican. I wish to be the first Christian, Conservative woman to gain a State Representative seat in Fort Bend County. My goal is to make it past the November 2024 General Election. I want to be ready to continue my work from where I already started my journey, by instead representing well over 200,000 Fort Bend County constituents. As a former Republican Precinct Chair turned Republican Candidate, I am still continuously working every day to educate myself on the issues that matter most to you.
I have already been working in politics previously for thirty years and have already been put to work as an elected Precinct Chair for my community and other communities in my hometown city of Sugar Land, Texas. My grandparents made a home in Mayfield Park where my family has resided for over seventy years. My background is deeply rooted in Texas tradition and my love for community is what motivated me to run for office.
I am a life-long Republican that has been living as a lifelong resident in Fort Bend County. I grew up in a humble community and come from a small town. My father is a Machinist, and my mother is a Hairstylist. I am the youngest of three siblings. I have many relatives that live all over Fort Bend, and I am a third generation Texan. I was born in Richmond, Texas at the formerly named Polly Ryon Hospital, which is now named Oak Bend Hospital. My beloved grandmother was born in Gonzales. My great-grandmother and grandfather were both born in Mexico. I was brought up in a Christian home and graduated from Dulles High School and I worked every day from kindergarten to keep up with my grades. In remembrance of my grandparents, I am running for the purpose of continuing right where they finished.
I am a grassroots Conservative that believes in family life, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech. I also believe in the American dream of prosperity, equal justice, and the right to protect the Second Amendment. I respect, the Pledge of Allegiance and Honoring the Texas flag. I also most of all believe in God.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Fort Bend Republicans

For the past four years, as a Precinct Chair in the Fort Bend Republican Party, I have been attending the Executive Commitee meetings. I was also a delegate at the Fort Bend Republican Convention twice. I have participated and helped out in the Outreach Committee, where I have also been helping to supervise the Fort Bend Republican Parade for the Fort Bend County Fair for seven years. My family and I are now Lifetime Members of the Fort Bend County Fair, where we go on a yearly basis. It is a family tradition, since my childhood, and we have been also volunteering at the Fort Bend County Republican booth for also the past seven years.
My interest in politics derived in Junior High School, while I was working in the library. During this time, I composed a speech for a composition contest about the social issues that meant something to me. Little did I know thirty years later that I would be running for political office. I never imagined that life's little twists and turns would take me down the path of running for Texas State Representative House District 76.
My political involvement for the past seven years has included distributing push- cards, block walking, and registering voters. I have been also assisting at events, by calling and signing in attendees. I have worked before with political campaigns, and also during this election season, I will continue to help fellow Republicans that are running for office. Should I make it past the Republican Primary, I want to extend my hand to help other Republican Candidates that have also made it past the Republican Primaries on March 3th, 2026.
As a current Republican Candidate, I want to represent everyone in the new House District 76, which has diverse constituents because of Fort Bend County being the most diverse County in the entire State of Texas. I would also like to meet with undecided voters so that they can get to know me, ask questions, or express their concerns. I am a concerned citizen of Fort Bend that is willing to put in the hard work to communicate with the Fort Bend School Board of Trustees, communities, precincts, and all of the cities in Fort Bend County. I have already started reaching out to local and state government, the law enforcement, the judicial system, the Commissioners court, the school district, and local churches. I will continue to educate myself on the current issues on behalf of the Concerned Citizens of Fort Bend. Concern for Fort Bend and Excellence for Education are my projects in the works.
As one person, I can't do this alone. Everything that I have done so far is nothing in comparison to the ongoing needs of everyday citizens, and hopefully, my future constituents. Flipping the current seat to Republican will be a challenge, but I am willing to do my best to earn your trust. Your concerns are also my concerns.
I have Conservative values, and I am a lifelong Christian that wants to get along with all of my potential, future constituents because I see the need to work together with all different cultures and religions. My political interaction has a profound beginning that comes from volunteering at my own church since my youth.
I communicate well with others by making use of my bilingual linguistics to talk about political current events. My researching skills involve organizational notetaking while watching the news stations, reading newspapers, and looking at social media. To this day, the library is where I go to immerse myself into different types of history, civics, and law topics. I have used computer graphics to make flyers, cards, invitations, and now my very own Campaign website, push cards, and event invitations.
Every day I have worked as a volunteer, as a community activist, and as a former Republican Precinct Chair. Now after careful consideration, for almost two years thinking this through carefully, I am running for Texas State Representative for House District 76, to better my community and also yours. Should I be your next Representative, I will continue to be a volunteer at my church, in my community, and also in yours. I will also visit with every church and religion as if it were my very own.
Should I make it past the March Primary Election in November 2026, I will be happy to meet anyone of you. I am willing to speak to volunteers and to communities to create a bond and trust with each and every one of you. I am working hard every day. Community is a blessing to me, and I want to continue being a friend and a volunteer towards the betterment of the family life of all of my potential future constituents.
Governing is a top priority on my list at the State level, but being a normal citizen has and always will be my goal in life and in my future endeavors.
On my current website, all of my Legislative Policies are on the Home Introduction Page and on the Texas 76 Agenda Page.
I also have Facebook, an email address, and a phone number, should you want to setup a meeting with me and my Staff. My second website is Lea For Texans.
